About the piece:

Received an honorable mention from the Minnesota Orchestra Composer Institute

Dreamcatcher explores the innocence and corruption of childhood and the relationship between consciousness and unconsciousness. Everyone has nightmares as a child, however sometimes those tormented dreams seem too realistic. Sometimes, those nightmares exist beyond the unconscious. But through everything we go through, we are ultimately stronger because we face the evil in our dreams and in our conscious world. We find ways of turning those poisonous thoughts into soothing ones so that we may continue on our paths with a peaceful mind.
